The Association for London's Welsh Legal Community
Supporting the Legal Community in Wales
About Us
The ALWL’s aim is to encourage an understanding of the development of Welsh law, legal practice and its constitution.
We aim to forge connections between Welsh members of the legal community in London and in Wales and to encourage a deeper understanding of what is going on, in legal terms, in Wales.
The association represents all branches of the legal profession, including the Judiciary, the Bar, Solicitors and Legal Executives as well as academic, public sector and commercial in-house lawyers.
We have set up and actively support a charitable trust, the Lord Edmund Davies Legal Education Trust, which places students from Wales who wish to gain experience of the legal profession with lawyers in London. You can read more about LEDLET at its website: www.ledlet.org.uk.
The association was established in 2011 with an inaugural meeting on 14 February 2011 at the House of Lords. Since then we have hosted an annual lecture, an annual dinner, a summer reception and a busy programme of social events such as pub quizzes, informal drinks events, Christmas events and trips to the rugby.
